TOGETHER FOR FRANCESCO

This project stems from a community-based idea; we will create a work that will not be crafted solely by the Master Blacksmiths, but will give the whole community the chance to take part.
The sculpture will be dedicated to St Francis and the wolf.
For those unfamiliar with the story, Francis did not fight the wolf; he welcomed it into the community, offered it food, and in return the wolf protected the inhabitants from danger.
This is precisely the meaning we wish to convey through our sculpture: the strength of the community stems from collaboration, mutual support and the ability to come together.
That is why we invite everyone to take part, young and old alike. Even children will be able to approach the forge and, accompanied by adults and the master blacksmiths, contribute to the creation of the sculpture.
The sculpture will be donated to the community, placed in the lower part of the Rocca, and will feature a plaque bearing the names of everyone who took part – so that one day they can say, ‘I helped make that too’.
